New "Super Mario" stages revealed for "Super Smash Bros." Wii U. Nintendo

UPDATE: New Characters Revealed Plus New Multiplayer Mode and More!

Tomorrow’s new Nintendo Direct Broadcast is said to focus solely on Super Smash Bros.” for Wii U and 3DS. We are hoping that the company finally announces the release date for the title as well as new playable characters and stages.

Since the announcement of the title, rumors have hit the web about possible playable characters. According to the rumor, Wii U's “Super Smash Bros.” will focus on retro characters, such as Donkey Kong Jr., Ridley, Pac-Man, Takamaru, Mach Rider, "Dig-Dug", and Stanley the Bug Man.

Another rumor is Lucina from “Fire Emblem Awakening” joining the roster of fighters. There were also two supposedly leaked images of Palutena in the 3DS version of “Super Smash Bros. 4.” Earlier this month there were also rumors that Falco would also be added to the roster. It is said that two veteran fighters, Pokemon’s Jigglypuff and Ness would also be joining both the 3DS and Wii U versions.

24 fighters have been confirmed for “Super Smash Bros.” Wii U and 3DS. The character roster includes: Diddy Kong, Little Mac, Lucario, King Dedede, Zelda, Rosalina and Luma, Marth, Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Pit, Villager, Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, Pikmin & Olimar, Luigi, Peach, Toon Link and Sonic. A handful of stages inspired by Nintendo games have also been revealed for the title including a “Super Mario 3D Land” inspired stage, “Animal Crossing” inspired stage, “Pokemon X, YLumiose City stage and a “Super Mario Galaxy” inspired level.

The “Super Smash Bros.” Nintendo Direct will stream in its usual place at 3pm PT / 6pm ET/ 11pm GMT in Europe and the US.
