'N Sync will be reuniting on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards 2013 set to take place in Brooklyn. Justin Timberlake is to receive the "Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award" for his career in music. Timberlake will be joined onstage by the rest of his former bandmembers Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez to relive the good ol' times.

The band has opened a Twitter account and has gone live ahead of their reunion. "Mic check, mic check one.. two... is this thing on?!" the tweet from the @NSYNC account read. The account already has over 135,000 followers while the tweet has close to 40,000 retweets and over 18,000 favorites.

"They will reenact some of their greatest videos in a medley," a source revealed to US Magazine. "Then Justin will sing his new song 'Take Back the Night' and get his [Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award]."

The insider revealed that the group will perform "Bye Bye Bye" among other hit songs. Back in 2000, the boys were on the VMA stage performing a string of hits like "This I Promise You," "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me." Maybe we can expect something similar this year as well. Also set to appear are hot boyband One Direction, is it a far stretch to maybe thing a massive collaboration is in the works for the VMAs? We can only dream!
