Wes Welker is known for his toughness on the field, and he was on NFL Total Access this week to talk about his debut with Peyton Manning. He impressed with nine catches and two touchdowns in his debut with the Denver Broncos, but host Dan Hellie was more interested in Welker’s artistic side. The host told Welker that he had heard rumors about an infamous pep rally at Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma City where Wes dressed up like Britney Spears for a lip-syncing contest.

Welker, who was a football star at the school from 1996-2000, couldn’t help but smile at the question, even admitting to the prank — albeit reluctantly. “Gosh, I’d love to say false there, but I did,” Welker said with a half-smile. “I’d love to say false, but they have me on video. I’ve already bought them off, so you won’t be seeing that anytime soon.”

Nevertheless, a video of the event leaked to the internet, and now the world can see the hilarious performance completed with the jock wearing a sports bra, green skirt and to complete Britney Spears late 90’s look, a blonde wig. Not only did the athlete channeled the pop star when he performed the song “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” but in the event, he also served as a backup dancer for Christina Aguilera’s “Genie In A Bottle” dance performance.

The football player’s teacher confirmed that it was him and added, “He was a superstar in the homecoming pep assembly lip sync contest in his senior year… He was a backup dancer in the Christina Aguilera “Genie In A Bottle” dance, and then probably the one that brought the house down was his portrayal of Britney Spears.”

Don’t miss the video below and let us know what you think! Should Wes pursue a career in the arts or stick to football?
