Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima, the 9-time winner of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, raced a bespoke Monster Sport E-Runner Pikes Peak EV up the peak this year only to come short due to a burning electric motor that ultimately caused Tajima to DNF.
Despite the poor result, it's clear that "Monster" Tajima is an advocate for electric vehicles. In fact, Tajima's project of late has been to act as a spokesperson for EVs, exhibiting his personal Monster Sport E-Runner in events around the world.
Inevitably, Tajima's enthusiasm finally brings him face to face the new Tesla Model S. In the latest video from Tesla, we see Tajima get behind the wheel of the Tesla Model S for the first time.
What does Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima think? Seriously impressed! Tajima was quick to praise, "The car I test drove today was extremely well tuned and balanced." Tajima also reflected, "I don't think another car like Model S will be available any time soon. I hope that this technology and the future products of Tesla will help the planet ease global warming..."
