Former First Lady Melania Trump hinted for the first time that there is a chance she could live in White House again as her husband Donald Trump teases a 2024 Presidential reelection bid.
Earlier there were reports that she wouldn't return to the White House as the First Lady of U.S. for a second term, and that she never publicly supported her husband for a second bid. But in a new interview with "Fox & Friends Weekend" co-host Pete Hegseth, she dropped some hints.
The 52-year-old, who has kept a low profile since leaving the White House in January 2021, said that she has been doing well and keeping busy after her husband's exit from Washington, D.C. Hegseth asked her whether she believed the White House could become her home again, Melania, who stays in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, said that she likes Washington, D.C, and that she knows it operates "completely differently than any other city."
For her, to be the First Lady of America was her "greatest honor," and she thinks that they "achieved a lot in the four years of the Trump administration." She added, "Never say never."
The former model said that she enjoyed her role, and taking care of the White House even though she faced many criticisms while Trump was the US President. Melania once wore a jacket emblazoned with the words "I really don't care, do u?" after which scrutiny towards her increased. She wore it on a trip to visit immigrant children at a border detention center in 2018. Later she clarified that the message was meant for the "left-wing media and people" who slammed her. The message was not for the children.
During the new interview, she also weighed in on the state of America under President Joe Biden, reported CNN.
This comes as her husband has repeatedly hinted that he will run for the presidency again in 2024, reported Daily Mail. Trump said that he didn't see another option when last year he was asked whether he would run again. He said that he loves America, and that if "you love the country you have no choice. It's not a question."
