Former first lady Melania Trump turned 52 on April 26, and TV host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel thinks that birthdays must be difficult for her.
Acknowledging Melania's birthday on his show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" he said, “Birthdays are tough for Melania." He joked that she has made the same wish for the past two decades, but "never comes true." He went on to say that the "tears keep extinguishing the candles before she can blow them out."
Kimmel also talked about Melania’s husband former U.S. President Donald Trump. He said that he doesn't know what kind of gift he gave her, but "he did send her a beautiful email today that started ‘dear supporter.'" According to Kimmel, birthdays are "depressing for a lot of people." Then he asked his audience if they can imagine being Melania. He said that every year people sing happy birthday for her then she "spends the next 10 minutes watching the gibbon she married wolf down a whole cake.”
He also shared his opinion on Trump’s new app Truth Social. He said that it is "such a disaster he himself hasn’t even posted on it for 11 weeks." The Guardian reported that Trump, whose Twitter account was banned after the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol, will probably be allowed to return to the platform under Elon Musk. The Tesla chief recently bought the company for $44 billion. But Trump said that he will not go back to the social media site.
Kimmel predicted that Trump will "100% go back on Twitter," and then "this dumb new company he conned everybody out of their money for will become, I guess, the social media equivalent of a RadioShack." “A RadioShack that is run by Devin Nunes,” he said of the former California congressman, who claimed that Truth Social has received more engagement than both Twitter and Instagram. He said that engagement means the "four people who are on it have been liking each other’s posts.”
Kimmel also discussed Trump’s recent interview with Piers Morgan, reported Indy100. He noted that Morgan "has been supportive of Trump in the past," and that the former President "picked him as the winner on "Celebrity Apprentice" back in 2008." But according to Kimmel, Trump didn’t like it when Morgan told him on his face that he "believes he lost a fair election and that he didn’t take the pandemic seriously enough… guess they’re not friends anymore.”
