Donald and Melania Trump's 17th wedding anniversary Saturday was reportedly all about keeping it low-key.
The couple got engaged in 2004, which was followed by a star-studded wedding ceremony in 2005 in Palm Beach, Florida, according to Sheknows. Since their Jan. 22, 2005 wedding ceremony, a lot has changed for the two.
Prior to their wedding anniversary, sources said that the former US President and Melania would celebrate the occasion with a low-profile weekend at their Florida home, reported PEOPLE.
While the pair spent their anniversary weekend together at their Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, sources said that the weekend included a lot of time apart for Trump and Melania, according to Nine.com.au.
Even as Trump continues to make false claims of election fraud in 2020 and play kingmaker in Republican politics, it's at the couple's Mar-a-Lago Club that they have built much of their post-White House lives. A source said that the husband and wife are very happy to be in Palm Beach, and that Mar-a-Lago is their home and "they could not be happier about that."
The insider shared that the former President plays golf regularly with "political guys who fly down as well as with social friends from his club." On the other hand, Melania, 51, keeps busy with her family, the spa at the club and her "own business and philanthropic interests," the source added.
Another source said that the former First Lady who mostly stayed away from limelight in the first year after leaving Washington, D.C., "is working on some exciting projects." The projects include an auction of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), art and clothing and more work with children. Melania's office had said of the auction that a portion of the proceeds "will support children from the foster care community."
Another source said that the Melania has her own fashionable interests and "wants to do something with them to make money." The source added that while she is a quiet and low-key person, "she definitely has her own attitude and does pretty much what she wants even if others don't get it."
For the past few months Trump and Melania have been enjoying their lives at the Florida club. They often see friends for dinner at the club, but spend little time together.
A source said that Melania "appears vibrant, happy and confident, and seems to have found her own interests away from the spotlight." She and her 75-year-old husband reportedly have a livable relationship and get along as well as can be expected for two such different personalities.
The source said that she makes an appearance with Trump for certain dinners, but spends most of her time with her own family members. According to the source, her "inner circle consists mainly of her sister and her parents." It is said that Melania is also very involved with teen son Barron's private schooling near their house.
