Meghan Markle has been getting the brunt of everyone’s criticism ever since she joined the royal family. And rumors about her just keeping coming.

She has been criticized publicly for some of her decisions — from asking for privacy on Archie’s baptism to riding on private jets during their summer vacation. She was even criticized for hiring a hollywood PR team to help with public perception.

Currently, Meghan is on royal tour in South Africa with her husband, Prince Harry. Despite the current engagement being seen as quite successful, critics have found another reason to target the former “Suits” actress.

In one of her appearances at the South African tour, the duchess was seen wearing a peculiar accessory: a gold chain necklace with an “evil eye” adornment. The design of her $550 pendant is akin to those seen on Turkish souvenirs. Her trinket comes from the handcrafted accessories by designer Alemdara, founded by former Tatler journalist Mariella Tandy.

The “eye” is based on the Ottoman belief that it “wards off jealousy from others” and guards the wearer from “negative thoughts and energy.” Unfortunately, her symbolical necklace didn’t stop haters from spreading their negativity about Meghan’s fashion choice.

“Meghan Markle wearing £450 ‘evil eye’ necklace to keep foes away. Christians are NOT to wear Pagan amulets! She has no faith in Christian prayers for protection,” critic @TDanevirke posted on Twitter.

“For real? She’s into voodoo? Horrible woman. Married in the Christian Faith? No wonder people can’t stand her. Hypocrisy,” said another user named @royalbabyboomer.

Still another user poked fun at Meghan, pointing out that she may just be either paranoid or a voodoo shaman. “Meghan Markle — plain paranoid or is she going to participate in some secret voodoo witchcraft ritual?” quipped user @perfecthire.

“No telling with her. She seems to be grasping at straws (or jewelry purchases to cast spells),” the user added.

At this point, the backlash from royal fans already comes unsurprising, considering the series of unfortunate incidents that Prince Harry’s wife has already gone through — and still going through.

This, however, was not the first time that Meghan wore accessories that look like “voodoo.” In December last year, she was seen wearing a $300 Kismet ring, which was said to have protective powers.
