Mariah Carey and James Packer's shocking split has had Hollywood talking since the announcement. The singer who was set to walk down the aisle with the billionaire called things to a screeching halt. And now, it is being reported that she is going through a breakdown.
According to In Touch Weekly, the R&B diva is not acting like her usual self and people are taking notice. Ever since her split with Packer, Mariah has been acting out of character and people close to her are starting to get pretty worried.
“Mariah’s behavior when it was over was ridiculous,” says a source close to the situation. “She’s gone full diva.”
The site reports that people close the the diva are saying that she is going off the handle and they are worried that she will only get worse.
"“She’s a lot to handle," former stylist Philip Bloch tells the site. "She’s delusional, but that’s okay. It works in her life. She’s like a ride at the amusement park — there’s a lot of turbulence going on there.”
In the past the singer has taken a turn for the worse. In 2001, Carey was hospitalized for two weeks and had to receive psychaitric care to bring her out of her break down.
Judging by the source, it seems as if the singer may be heading down the same road again.
“Now that James is out of her life, she’s acting loopier than ever," an insider reveals to the site. "One minute she’s saying she wants to go to dinner to be seen by her fans, and the next minute she’s complaining that they won’t leave her alone when she goes out.”
While we all know first hand that relationships are hard, if the news is true, we hope that Mariah is able to pull herself together. If not for her sake, for her children.
