29-year-old Andres Iniesta has been a major player at Barcelona for over a decade. Registering 30 goals from the midfield position in 307 matches since 2002, the Fuentealbilla, Spain native continues to play at a high level while guiding Barcelona to added levels of success. Last season, Iniesta helped lead Barca to its 22nd La Liga title while also helping his side claim the Supercopa de Espana. A key member of the Spanish national team as well, Iniesta scored the winning goal for Spain in the 2010 World Cup Gold Medal match, solidifying himself as one of the top international players in professional soccer.

Despite the fact that Iniesta has been a tremendous reason for Barcelona's recent success, multiple reports indicate that his future with the club may be in doubt since the player and club have yet to come to terms on a new contract. With the midfielders contract set to expire in 2015, Iniesta and the La Liga giants have been in talks but a new agreement has not yet come through, adding a level of speculation as to whether or not his run with Barcelona is in fact coming to an end.

According to Daily Mail, Iniesta even rejected a recent offer from the club perhaps due to the fact that Andres and many players are upset that all the financial backing of the club is currently going toward the salary of rising Brazilian star Neymar.

Andres Iniesta has rejected Barcelona's first offer of a new contract throwing his long term future at the Nou Camp into doubt.

The Neymar effect has taken its toll on the Barcelona dressing room with the team that beat Manchester United in the 2011 Champions League being broken up to help pay for the Brazilian's signing.

But Barcelona's first offer is understood to be well below the expectations of the three times European Cup and two-times European Championship winner.

The news that Iniesta and Barca have yet to come to terms on a new deal has sparked rumors that the 29-year-old may look for a move to the Barclays Premier League, with Manchester United and Manchester City listed as the top 2 potential suitors. Manchester United looked into the availablilty of Barca's Cesc Fabregas over the summer but failing to reel in the coveted target, head coach David Moyes and company could look to a player with Iniesta's skill set if the situation presents itself down the road.

Though he would certainly become a hot commodity, Iniesta's father doesn't believe his son will leave Camp Nou for the simple fact that he's become a fixture at one of the most successful clubs in the world.

"Anyone who knows Andres, who has spent 18 years at Barcelona should not doubt him," Iniesta's father said recently. "Andres is still vital to Barcelona's style of play."

While it remains to be seen what will happen with the current contract situation of Andres Iniesta at Barcelona, it will be interesting to follow how clubs like Man U, Manchester City and even darkhorse teams including PSG and Chelsea monitor the series of events that take place between the long-time Barca player and his team.
