Cristiano Ronaldo was a fan favorite at Old Trafford from 2003 to 2009 and even though he's put together a phenomenal career with Real Madrid since leaving Manchester United after the '09 season, Ronaldo is still a highly coveted piece at his old stomping grounds.
While it seemed like a long shot in the early part of the current transfer window that Ronaldo could head back to the Premier League, multiple sources are indicating that the 28-year-old may return to Old Trafford for a substantial financial number.

According to The Guardian, Man U and Real Madrid are close to agreeing on a transfer fee of £80 million that would in fact send Ronaldo from Madrid back to Old Trafford.

United want to get Cesc Fabregas before the transfer window closes and preferably before the season starts on Saturday week.
