Tottenham striker Gareth Bale continues to be one of the most sought after players in soccer during the current transfer window and as potential suitors remain in pursuit of the 24-year-old, Bale and the Spurs may already know what the next step is for both player and franchise.
According to ESPN FC, Tottenham is willing to send their prized scorer to Real Madrid as long as they receive a big financial boost and talented midfielder Luka Modric in return.
The Spurs are looking for an offer north of £100 million while Real has reportedly offered £80 million for the services of Bale but the real question as to whether or not this deal will get done is uncovering how willing the La Liga runner-up will be in sending a large amount of money and a key player to the Premier League squad.

While it's uncertain whether or not Bale will depart Tottenham after six impressive seasons that saw him record a total of 55 goals, current members of the Real Madrid organization believe Bale has a high level of interest in joining the club.
"If he has expressed a desire to join Madrid, then Tottenham should give him permission to speak with us," former Real star and current club ambassador Zinedine Zidane told FOX News recently. "The chance to play for Real Madrid might only come around once in a player's lifetime, and it's understandable that Gareth doesn't want to miss out on it."
Tottenham may want Modric in return for Bale but they're not the only team hot on the 27-year-old's trail.
Despite struggles to land key players from across the game of soccer during the 2013 transfer season, Manchester United and first-year head coach David Moyes still feel they have the financial capacity to land stars and one of those coveted players is the aforementioned Luka Modric.

Already scripting an offer of £25m, Man U seems set on reeling in a player who would certainly be able to help the club retain its 2012-2013 Premier League trophy while also bolstering the team's midfield line, a goal of Moyes during the offseason.
"Manchester United are more than happy to compete with all of the teams," Moyes told ESPN FC recently about his club's continued pursuit of high-profile players. "There has been a change in the dynamic because of PSG coming on the scene recently. That has altered things. But Manchester United will always compete."
It will certainly be interesting to see what Man U is able to do regarding its current pursuit of Luka Modric and other players such as Cesc Fabregas while Real Madrid and Tottenham seem to inch closer to a major deal with each passing day.
