A brutal husband has been accused of mercilessly strangling his yoga trainer wife to death after suspecting her of having an illicit extramarital affair in Delhi, India on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
Paramjeet Singh, 45, who runs a car accessories shop at Kashmiri Gate, allegedly killed his wife Ravneet Kaur, 40, a yoga trainer by profession and a resident of Model Town-3 in Delhi, after suspecting her of having an illicit affair, NDTV reported.
Following the brutal attack, Kaur was rushed to the Pentamed Hospital in Model Town for treatment but she was declared dead on arrival.
Kaur reportedly worked as a yoga trainer and used to visit the gym twice a day. However, Singh suspected that she was having an affair with another man and strangled her to death in frustration, a senior police officer said.
The autopsy report released on Saturday, Sept. 25, revealed that the victim was choked to death and that there was no external injury mark on her body.
Singh and Kaur have been married for the past 20 years. The couple's eldest daughter is reportedly studying in Pune.
The couple's younger daughter and Singh's parents were reportedly present in the house at the time of the murder. However, they were in different rooms and remained unaware of Kaur being choked to death until it was too late, according to Hindustan Times.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a man allegedly killed his wife and two sons over suspicion that his wife was having an affair with another man.
The incident reportedly happened in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district on Sept. 6.
Rajesh Gupta, 34, a tailor by profession and a resident of Bhaluhi village, allegedly slit the throats of his 30-year-old wife Nikki and their children, Shiva, 7, and Ayush, 3, while they were sleeping at night. After the incident, he reached the Turkpatti Police Station located about 5 kilometers away from his home carrying the blood-stained murder weapon and surrendered, News18 reported.
Gupta and Nikki reportedly got married eight years ago. Gupta frequently engaged in heated arguments with his wife over suspicions of an illicit affair.
“My wife had made me impotent by injecting a needle when I was sleeping. I was sure that Ayush is not my son. My wife had an illicit affair with another man. So, I killed her and the children,” Gupta told the police.
However, Nikki’s relatives alleged that Gupta had an illicit relationship with his sister-in-law and killed his wife and children to get rid of them.
