A man has been accused of stabbing his wife to death after the two engaged in a heated argument over their daughter's marriage in Bangalore, Karnataka, India on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The accused husband, identified as 40-year-old Munavar, a tonga driver, recently found a match for his daughter's marriage. However, his 33-year-old wife Shahaida and his daughter reportedly did not agree to the alliance. When the daughter expressed her disinterest in getting married to the person, Munavar felt upset, the Times Of India reported.

Munavar, who felt enraged over their rejection, questioned his wife and blamed her for their daughter's refusal to marry the person he had chosen. This led to a heated argument between the couple. As their confrontation escalated, Munavar, in a fit of rage, took out a knife and allegedly brutally stabbed his wife on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

After stabbing Shahaida, Munavar reportedly fled the scene. Shahaida, who suffered grievous injuries in the attack, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, despite undergoing treatment for two days at the facility, Shahaida succumbed to her injuries and died on Saturday evening, Sept. 24, LatestLY reported.

Following the incident, Devarajeevanahalli police registered a murder case and arrested Munavar on charges of killing his wife.
