A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend’s minor daughter for not listening to him in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan on Saturday, Oct. 15.
The accused, a 25-year-old man, a temp worker from Tomakomai City in Hokkaido, was reportedly living at his girlfriend’s apartment in Sapporo’s Nishi Ward when the alleged assault happened. At around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, the accused assaulted his girlfriend’s elementary school-age daughter by hitting her and throwing her violently onto a bed, Japan Today reported.
After the accused assaulted the 10-year-old child, the child's mother called the police and informed them about the incident. Following this, officers responded to the scene and arrested the accused.
When the officers questioned the accused about the assault, he admitted to the charge and said that he lost his temper because the girl wouldn’t listen to him and prevented the three of them from going out.
In a similar but unrelated incident, a man allegedly dropped his own 2-month-old infant and brutally broke the child's bones as punishment for "excessive crying," as previously reported.
Marterrius C. Moore, 22, of Millbrook, was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse after he allegedly assaulted his 2-month-old infant Jamarion Moore on several occasions out of frustration for "excessive crying." His attacks reportedly caused multiple injuries to the infant's head and body, including multiple fractured bones.
On Sunday, Oct. 24, Children’s Hospital staff contacted Millbrook police officials and alerted them that they were treating a 2-month old child suffering from severe head trauma indicative of an abusive household.
Moore reportedly told the police officers that the baby suffered the head trauma because he accidentally dropped the infant on Tuesday, Oct. 19. However, the extent of the child's injuries was found to be more grievous when compared to the reason for injury that Moore mentioned.
After the Millbrook Police Department questioned Moore, he admitted to angrily injuring the child on several occasions due to the child’s excessive crying. Moore was arrested and charged with Aggravated Child Abuse. The abusive parent was then processed and transported to the Elmore County Jail.
