Scarlett Johansson as a superhero? It’s never too much and it’s always a delight to see this sexy bombshell gracing our screens once again. This is the case with “Lucy” a new action thriller from writer/director Luc Besson (La Femme Nikita, The Professional, The Fifth Element) that tracks a woman accidentally caught in a dark deal who turns the tables on her captors and transforms into a merciless warrior evolved beyond human logic. And to add the cherry on top, “Lucy” also stars Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman.

In the film, hitting theaters on August 8, Lucy, portrayed by Johansson, is a woman living in Taipei, Taiwan, who is forced to work as a drug mule for the mob. They implant a new super drug that she is supposed to take somewhere in the world, but the substance inadvertently leaks into her system, converting her into a superhuman. Some of her powers are absorbing knowledge instantaneously, moving objects with her mind, and not feeling pain or discomforts.

Besson shot the movie in Paris for the most part, but also in Taipei and New York City. It is believed that the director has never put so many special effects into a movie, so you better be sure that we’ll be in for a mind-blowing treat. Scroll down to catch the trailer and let us know your thoughts of Scarlett Johansson in one of the roles she does best: a strong, kick-a** female who doesn’t let anyone dictate what she does or who she is.
