There was a time when the fate of Season 4 of “Lucifer” hang in the balance after Fox refused to renew the show after its third season. Thankfully, that’s all in the past now as Netflix picked up the series after fans showed their overwhelming support via the #SaveLucifer campaign. To help fans endure the long wait, here are some things to expect next season.

Chloe Struggles With Her New Discovery

One of the cliffhangers in Season 3’s finale that fans just can’t get over with is Chloe’s shock upon learning Lucifer’s true identity. In fact, co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich hinted that her discovery will become some sort of a new journey for Chloe in the upcoming season.

“She wouldn’t just accept it right away,” Modrovich revealed. “She’s going to go through all the emotions that we’ve been through, the audience. For her to be able to see his struggle, every single side of him, and she is going to feel a little bit like what he says in the penultimate episode, which is ‘I feel like you’ve seen one side of me,’” he continued.

There Will Be Two Releases

Those who have watched a few shows on Netflix know that the online platform differs from regular TV programming when it comes to scheduling each episode. While television usually opts to show one episode per week, Netflix would usually release all episodes in one go.

In the case of “Lucifer” Season 4, there won’t be a weekly schedule. But the show will be released in two batches. Since it has already been confirmed that the upcoming season will only have 10 episodes, it is highly likely that the online streaming giant will release 5 episodes per batch.

Tom Ellis Might Be Showing More Skin

One perk of being transferred to Netflix is that, unlike airing on broadcast television, the standards and requirements for shows airing on the online platform are not as strict. In the past three seasons, Lucifer has been living a “relatively modest lifestyle,” especially if one takes into consideration that the character is predisposed to doing all kinds of sinful activities.

Thus, one can expect for Netflix’s “Lucifer” Season 4 to be more daring and to show more skin, especially from its main character. Actor Tom Ellis, who plays the devil in the show, already hinted as much. “I think Joe Henderson, our showrunner, has been adamant that he wants to have my bum on screen for three seasons and now we can finally do that,” he said.

At the moment, however, there is still no word as to the show’s actual release date. What is known at the moment is that Netflix will release the fourth season sometime in 2019. Until then, stay tuned for more details and updates.
