"Lucifer" has added another new character to its roster for Season 2. According to Deadline, the DC Vertigo comic-themed series will add "Dexter" alum Aimee Garcia for a series regular role as forensic scientist Ella Lopez.
As per the website, scientist Ella Lopez grew up as part of an observant but tough Catholic family in a rough section of Detroit. That is all the details we currently have on the character, but we will keep you updated on any new info.
Meanwhile, another new casting announcement was just made yesterday. "Battlestar Galactica's" Tricia Helfer will join Season 2 of "Lucifer" for a multi-episode arc. Helfer is set to play "Mamma D" also known as Charlotte or Lucifer's mother. Check out "Mamma D's" full character description below courtesy of TV Line:
"Trapped in Hell for thousands of years by God (her ex-husband), the Mother of Angels is now free on Earth. Once reunited with Lucifer, it will become clearthat she’s the one he takes after. Mom is fearless and has a strong conviction for who she is and what she deserves. However, mother and son do not share the same opinion when it comes to humanity. Everything that fascinates Lucifer about people repels Mom — a disdain that’s highlighted by that fact that Mom’s trapped in a human body for her stay on Earth. Lucifer’s desperate to find out what Mom’s up to, but she claims that all she wants is to spend time with her sons again. But can the devil’s mom really be that innocent?"
"Lucifer" is based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment's Vertigo. The series stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningside, Lauren German as Detective Chloe Decker, Kevin Alejandro as Detective Dan Espinoza, D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel and Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen.
"Lucifer" will return for Season 2 on Monday, Sept. 19, at 9 p.m. EDT.
