"Lo Que La Vida Me Robo" intensifies as each episode airs on Univision. The telenovela starring Angelique Boyer as Montserrat and Sebastián Rulli as Alejandro Almonte is in a crucial moment and we have major spoilers for you up ahead. Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! The previous episode left us in a shocking cliffhanger after a shot was fired and Maria's (Grettel Valdez) life was at stake. A brief recap on what happened: Pedro (Sergio Sendel) gets the brilliant idea to kill Maria as she could be a liability if word gets out that he beat her up. Ezequiel (Alexis Ayala), Adolfo and Maria drive to a clandestine area. Adolfo receives a call from Pedro and tells him to open the globe compartment with a gun inside, while Ezequiel handcuffs Maria and tells her to get on her knees. Pedro orders Adolfo to kill Maria and if he doesn't Ezequiel will shoot him. Maria begs for her life while Adolfo points a gun to her head and shoots... Ezequiel tells Pedro over the phone, "This woman has stopped being a problem." Is Maria dead?
Episode 98 picks up right where it left off and it turns out that Adolfo shot to the side of her. Ezequiel was ok with this as he has another plan in store and wants to take Pedro Medina down with the help of Adolfo and Maria. For now they are going to make believe that Maria actually died and set her up with Esmeralda (Margarita Magaña). The former pole dancer is now the owner of the strip club thanks to Angelica's (Ilithya Manzanilla) generosity. Esmeralda tells Maria that she will have to earn to live at the bar and will be the maid as that is the only thing she knows how to do. Maria is not happy but will have to accept as she fears for her life. Meanwhile Fabiola (Lisset) pays a visit to Pedro and tells him that José Luis (Luis Roberto Guzmán) helped Alejandro burn the evidence that incriminated him.
Pedro visits José Luis and threatens him that he will regret for going up against him. The next day Pedro brings the Captain over and confronts him for aiding Alejandro. José Luis confessed that of his wrong doing and the Captain fired him and told him to vacate his office. José Luis asks to talk to the Captain to ask him how he found out that he burned the evidence. José Luis tells the Captain that he acted alone and Alejandro had nothing to do with the plan. Back at Pedro Medina's office, he offers Adolfo to be his protégé and take over his job once he runs for state governor pushing Ezequiel to the side. "Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" airs Monday through Friday at 9pm/8c on Univision.
