"Lo Que La Vida Me Robó" continues to surprise viewers with their twist and turns to this classic telenovela. Univision's top-rated soap starring Angelique Boyer, Sebastián Rulli and Luis Roberto Guzmán has viewers glued to their television sets to see how the story unravels. Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! As the plot goes right now, Alejandro Almonte (Rulli) is in jail, falsely accused of drug trafficking thanks to a scheme planned by Pedro Medina (Sergio Sendel). After the death of Joaquín Arechiga (Luis Xavier), Alejandro found out he left a note that would absolve Alejandro from all his accusations. Alejandro gave this note to Padre Anselmo (Eric Del Castillo) to deliver to José Luis (Guzmán), but it didn't get to his hands thanks to the conniving Maria (Grettell Valdez) who is working with Pedro.
Pedro finds out that Maria has the letter and forces to give it to him. She hesitates at first but receives a severe physical abuse and has no other option. Pedro turns the letter to ashes and Alejandro's hope is gone. José Luis arrives at the scene shocked to see Maria bruised. Montserrat (Boyer) soon walks in and Maria takes the opportunity to confuse the situation and make her believe it was José Luis that did that to her. Montserrat later returns only to hear Maria telling Adolfo (Ferdinando Valencia) it was Pedro Medina. Montserrat goes to apologize to José Luis for the misunderstanding and he takes this opportunity to plant a big wet one on her and she reciprocates.
On Episode 97 we see Montserrat confused by the situation and pushes José Luis away. "Listen to me well, don't ever kiss me again in your lifetime," Montserrat tells José Luis sternly. "If you don't want that to happen again, I will repeat what I told you last time... GET OUT OF MY LIFE AND STOP PROVOKING ME!" he yells. Meanwhile, María pays a visit to Alejandro and tells him a load of lies. She doesn't tell him that it was Pedro Medina that physically assaulted her and tells him Montserrat and José Luis arrived together and they were seemingly happy to know that the letter that proved his innocence was destroyed. Pedro pressures Nadia (Alejandra Garcia) to have a baby after he found birth control pills. Nadia tells him to liberate Alejandro as he is innocent and she will take the pills as long as he is in there.
José Luis goes to jail to visit Alejandro and tells him that he kissed his wife. When Montserrat visits him later in the day, she doesn't tell him what happened with José Luis even though he tries to get it out of her. "Do you love me?" Alejandro asks. "And you still ask me? Of course I love you," Montserrat responds with glowing eyes. Elsewhere, Pedro gets the brilliant idea to kill Maria as she could be a liability if word gets out that he beat her up. Ezequiel, Adolfo and Maria drive to a clandestine area. Adolfo receives a call from Pedro and tells him to open the globe compartment with a gun inside, while Ezequiel handcuffs Maria and tells her to get on her knees. Pedro orders Adolfo to kill Maria and if he doesn't Ezequiel will shoot him. Maria begs for her life while Adolfo points a gun to her head and shoots... Ezequiel tells Pedro over the phone, "This woman has stopped being a problem." Is Maria dead?
