Just as fans of Netflix's widely talked about series "Orange Is The New Black" caught word that the show was in filming for its second season, Laura Prepon, who plays lesbian inmate Alex and former lover of Piper Champan -- played by Taylor Schilling -- will not be signing any new contracts to continue the show. As of late, Prepon will be returning to the show to finish off her character's plotline. There is room for her to re-enter the show, but there is no word on whether or not that will happen.

"Our season is still developing and nothing is confirmed," a Netflix representative told People Magazine.

The representative went on to tell reporters with HuffPost TV that the rumors are unfounded and that Prepon's so-called departure is not confirmed. If Prepon departs, it would likely change the course of the show as her relationship with Chapman is an integral point in the series. Prepon's publicists denied to comment to Buzzfeed about the amount of truth in the rumors.

"One of [Prepon's] agents responded to an email by saying he could not discuss the show, and her publicist did not immediately answer an email asking why Prepon would leave 'Orange Is the New Black,'" Buzzfeed reported.

Prepon spoke with reporters recently about her role on the Netflix series, praising her character and the roles of women in the show. She made no mention of terminating her time of the show. The prison comedy-drama made a surprising debut, topping out "House of Cards" in ratings for the first week the show was available. Prepon received stellar reviews from top critics for her performance.

"[Alex is] an awesome character ... It's cool because, as a female actress, you always try to look for roles that are challenging, different and new. It's hard to find something like that," Prepon said in a recent interview. "When we read roles, it's usually another f--king typical female role. When I read this script, there were so many rad roles, so when I read Alex I loved her."
