‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ Rumors: Angelina Jolie To Voice Maleficent In Upcoming Game

It appears Square Enix is pulling out all the stops for its upcoming title "Kingdom Hearts III." The developers recently revealed they would be working "full throttle" on the title now that "Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMix" is finished and set to release December 2014 and it shows because new rumors suggest that the character Maleficent will be voiced by none other than Angelina Jolie herself!

The "Maleficent" film featuring Jolie received high praise from fans and critics alike and left many wondering if we'd see that version of the "Sleeping Beauty" villain in other forms of media, specifically "Kingdom Hearts III." A fan asked the creative director if Jolie would make an appearance which he replied, “I’m not saying anything but you’re in for a surprise." It's not much to go on but it doesn't deny that she will be in the title. Of course Jolie as Malficent in KH3 isn't the only thing fans are looking forward to.

According to other reports KH3 will introduce new lands and characters from "The Incredibles," "Frozen," "Wreck-It Ralph" and "Toy Story." The site says each land will show different aspects of Sora's experiences and his development in KH3. For example the "Wreck-It Ralph" land most likely won't have much fighting but rather introduce a racing element into the game. "The Incredibles" land will show what Sora is becoming, while the "Toy Story" and "Frozen's" land will show the importance of friendship, bonds and teamwork.

Meanwhile other rumors floating around the Internet suggest that KH3 will also introduce a "Star Wars" and Marvel themes. Since Disney has purchased both mega companies everyone has been waiting for crossovers from all of Disney's franchises including Tetsuya Nomura. He admitted at the Japan Expo in Paris that he would love for "Star Wars" and Marvel content to make it to KH3 saying:

"It would be great if we could add those licenses as well," though "there are lots of rules and restrictions by Disney so we can't actually put in everything people want. So it's quite a difficult decision, but we're going to prepare some surprises for you so, just wait for the information."

Of course, these are all rumors and speculations and since we've heard pretty much nothing from Nomura or Square Enix then we'll have to wait and see what happens.
