‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ News: Tai Yasue Explains Why There Was No E3 2014 Trailer Or Gameplay Video

While we know that "Kingdom Hearts III" won't be making its debut in 2014 there isn't much else we do know about the title until now. Co-developer of the title Tai Yasue has revealed why fans of the franchise didn't see anything about KH3 at E3 2014. According to Yasue, now is the year of "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Final Mix." The Kingdom Hearts developers have worked very hard to ensure that fans can see the continuity across the Kingdom Hearts games in the leadup to KH3. In an interview with Game Informer Yasue said:

“It was the year of 2.5 for us. When we were first planning out Kingdom Hearts 3, we wanted 1.5 and 2.5 out in a timely fashion, so everyone would really get an understanding of the story. And so we really wanted to push 2.5. Making teasers and trailers really does require a lot of work, and we just wanted to get the development moving along quickly on Kingdom Hearts 3, so this year we really focused on 2.5.”

Meanwhile Yasue also revealed that the team working on "Kingdom Hearts III" is putting their all into the project especially now that "Kindom Hearts HD 2.5 Mix" is complete and ready for release. Yasue said, “We’ve been working full throttle [onKingdom Hearts 3]. It’s moving along. We structured our team in a way that development of 2.5 doesn’t impede Kingdom Hearts 3. I’m actually very excited about Kingdom Hearts 3.”

Yasue also reveals a bit about the possible worlds, upcoming Disney content that will be added and even gave a small teaser about "Frozen."

"Everyone wants to know. I can’t say at this moment, but news will come out about the worlds. There’s a lot of Disney content that’s new and coming out and we’re considering which ones to use, which would be good from a gameplay perspective. This is not an announcement or anything, but personally I enjoyed watching Frozen. It was magical: the stories, the songs, the ice expressions."

According to PlayStation Life Square Enix is planning for events in which they want to show off more "Kingdom Hearts III" but didn't reveal which events those would be. No release date or release window has been revealed for KH3 but we do know the game will be coming for the PS4 and Xbox One.
