If you are a "Kingdom Hearts" fan, I apologize because this article does not bring good tidings, but it does bring some news about the release date. In the anxious await for the release of "Kingdom Hearts 3," game director, Tetsuya Nomura is providing some new information and clearing up rumors.
After the "Kingdom Hearts" debut in 2002, fans sat by and watched as numerous spin-offs left them uninterested in the Disney/Final Fantasy game. But now as the release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" approached, may be it slowly, fans of the franchise are still enthusiastic. And luckily, for the dedicated fans, Nomura understands the high expectations and is seemingly rising to the occasion. "Fan expectation for 'Kingdom Hearts 3′ is extremely high," he told the LA Times. "To respond to those expectations, I have to provide something really good. Technology is really important, as is the [Disney] world."
And while we are thrilled to hear that Nomura plans for "Kingdom Hearts 3" to be "really good," there is still little word on which characters will be featured and in what Disney worlds will the game take place. Most of the final world and game features are still being decided upon due to the Disney's delay in providing Square Enix with a list of options for inclusion in the new game. iDigitalTimes expects the more iconic characters to return, "naturally, pivotal characters like King Mickey will be making their return." However, some other aspects represented in the game are yet to even be speculated on due to the "Kingdom Hearts 3" team acknowledge the use or not of the recently acquired, "Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel Comics."

And while Nomura himself wouldn't reveal on what's confirmed for the game through Disney's recent acquisitions, he did state that working with Disney to see what will be available is the biggest challenge of the game. "What world is available for the title is an important question," he said. "The story -- it has to be great enough to meet the expectation of the fans. When that's ready, and I feel like I am ready, then the game can start," he told the LA Times.
One thing we do know for sure is that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will culminate the Dark Seeker saga, although the characters who will wrap up the saga are still unknown. Nomura also cleared up some rumors regarding relationships between Disney and Square Enix, according to the game director the two work great together and the delay in game is not attributed to a failing relationship. "The counterpart that I've been working with at Disney the past 10 years is the same person," said Nomura, adding, "We have very heated discussions about this franchise, and we've done that for the past 10 years, but we have a steady relationship."
