"Kingdom Hearts 3" fans are certainly not going to have their Christmas wishes granted this year. The ongoing delays and seemingly continuous stream of bad news has just gotten even worse. In a recent interview with Japanese Degenki Playstation Magazine, Tetsuya Nomura, who serves as game director for both "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy XV" made some interesting comments regarding a forthcoming video game, however the game he discussed were neither of his highly anticipated titles. Instead, Nomura choose to discuss the upcoming multiplatform title, "TitanFall." To be fair the magazine probed Nomura with several question, one in particular asking him, aside from the titles he is currently working on, mainly KH3 and FF15, which video game has impressed him the most. Nomura replied that "TitanFall" is the most impressive soon-to-be released video game.

The choice of "TitanFall" is out of character for Nomura, mainly due to his geographical location and particular taste, as shown in both the Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy franchises. "TitanFall" was developed by Respawn Entertainment using a first-person shooter style presceptive to provide it with it's signature more western look. "TitanFall" and other Respawn games including "Call of Duty" are not nearly as popular in Japan when compared to western gamers, like the United States. Nomura did explain his curious choice, citing the "intellectual property" creates realism in the series, and he also specifically stated that he admires the "giant bi-pedal robots" which some how manage to look convincing. "TitanFall" was recently confirmed to be a console exclusive on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, although both of Nomura's titles are still wallowing in video game purgatory without official release dates.

So what exactly does Nomura's admiration of "TitanFall" mean for "Kingdom Hearts 3" and "Final Fantasy XV?" Well a lot, game directors are influenced by what surrounds them, hence the heavy anime style that has become signature to Nomura's projects. Although, if Nomura begins to shift the next installment of these popular series to convey a more "realistic" visual, that would severely hinder them both. Both titles incorporate fantastical elements, along with bright colors, notable brush strokes, and specific cartoon characters, attempting to make them "realistic" would be a mistake.

As for release dates, original estimates placed the FF15 release date somewhere in 2014, however a recent Square Enix lineup was released without the game title, indicating the soonest possible release date for "Final Fantasy XV" will be in December of 2014. Meaning that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is still at least two years away, it seems unlikely that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be appearing on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One any earlier than 2015.
