The legendary singer/songwriter/performer Juan Gabriel was hospitalized on the day following his three hour, sold-out show at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas on April 14. He was diagnosed with pneumonia. The singer was released after four days but readmitted when doctors recommended that the rest period be extended in order for his lungs to make a complete recovery. Juan Gabriel is renowned for his generous and extended live performances, so doctors wanted to make sure he had time to rest and make a full recovery.

Doctors suggested that Juan Gabriel postpone his tour indefinitely for health reasons, but after a lot of rescheduling and honoring the doctor’s orders, the singer’s publicists have confirmed “El Divo de Juárez” will resume his series of shows on September 5. “Juan Gabriel continues to successfully recover from respiratory problems and doctors say that he may resume his acclaimed ‘Volver 2014’ tour in September. ‘El Divo de Juárez’ will make his triumphant return to the stage, stronger than ever, on September 5 at the Miami American Airlines Arena and will perform at all the cities where he was originally scheduled to perform,” said CMN Events, the producers of the tour.
