Mexican legend Juan Gabriel has been having a rough couple of weeks. He was hospitalized in mid-April in Las Vegas with pneumonia. Four days later he was released, but readmitted the same day. Of course, rumors began swirling about his health, claiming he had a heart condition and then spreading that he has cancer. The singer doesn’t have “a malign disease” but will remain hospitalized to take care of his airways, “which were weakened by the pneumonia,” according to a statement from Juan Gabriel’s publicist.

This means that his tour “Volver 2014” will be postponed indefinitely while he remains resting in the hospital. “Juan Gabriel continues to improve satisfactorily. His main issue was related to the strength of his lungs. Doctors have recommended to continue resting,” said the publicist’s statement. Meanwhile, People en Español got a hold of the singer’s USA publicists and asked about the alleged cancer rumors that were surrounding the second hospitalization of “El Divo de Juárez.”

“Reports that claim Juan Gabriel has cancer are fake,” Juan Gabriel’s publicist office told the magazine. Another source that claims to know the singer, also denied the rumors to the publication and added that the reason why he went back to the hospital was related to his nerves. According to the insider, a paparazzi followed the singer down a Vegas highway for 40 minutes and that caused him a lot of distress.

This is the second time that Juan Gabriel has had to cancel dates from his tour since he was first hospitalized on April 14. Initially, he had just only postponed three concerts, and was set to return to the stages beginning May. However, all the remaining dates are now postponed until further notice.
