That's it. We're convinced. When we get older, we want to be like Juan Gabriel! At 66 years old, the Mexican singer is unstoppable and seems healthier and stronger than ever. You'd think that like most men his age, Juanga would be retired from the scene and relaxing somewhere in paradise, but that's not the case!
Not only is Juanga all about his "Los Dúo" albums, but he's also big on making a music video with almost every artist he collaborated with. He recently premiered a music video with Marc Anthony for "Yo Te Recuerdo" and with Marco Antonio Solis for "Se Me Olvido Otra Vez." His remarkable trajectory even nabbed him a special recognition at the 2016 Billboard Latin Music Awards and Top Latin Album at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.
To prove that he's here forever, El Divo de Juarez dropped his latest production titled "Gracias Al Sol," a Spanish-language cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's classic jam "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?" The song, however, is not only an ode to the classic band of the sixties and seventies, but it's also the first single off of a Latin tribute album for the band titled "Quiero Creedence."
“Juan is so excited for it to be a single,” notes Gustavo Farias, who produced the track, on the project's website. “He immediately started tweeting to let his fans know about the summer release—and that it’s not his song! Everyone’s freaking out because over 40 years, it’s the first song that he’s ever recorded that he didn’t write. So he’s really breaking ground.”
Other Latin artists who are part of the CCR tribute album include Juanes, Enrique Bunbury, Los Enanitos Verdes and Los Lobos.
The iconic Mexican singer, on another hand, also revealed a new tour following his successful 2014 "Volver" tour. The new tour called "MeXXIco Es Todos" (XXI symbolizing the 21st century) is expected to make the rounds in the fall in over 20 U.S. cities including Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago. Be prepared, because El Divo de Juarez is coming full force with a 360 stage set-up so that all of his fans can enjoy his show, his iconic songs and his shoulder shimmies!
"MeXXIco Es Todos" will kick off in August at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. His visit in 22 U.S. cities will include back-to-back shows in McAllen, Texas' State Farm Arena and many shows in North Carolina, California, Florida and New York. Billboard reports tickets go on sale Friday, June 3 at 10 a.m. with a special code-activated pre-sale on Thursday, June 2 at 10 a.m.
