Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux apparently still share the same love and concern for their dogs even after they divorced. In fact, the ex-couple briefly got together to bid their final goodbyes to a beloved pet that recently died.
But a rumor surfaced that seems to suggest that there’s more to the story than just one somber and tearful reunion. According to a recent tabloid report, a shouting match might have happened and alcohol was involved.
It was National Enquirer that reported that the supposedly solemn reunion between Aniston and Theroux took a surprising turn at the end, as per Gossip Cop. Everything reportedly went smoothly at first until alcohol was introduced into the equation.
“It was all very cordial at first, with Jen and Justin united by grief and really leaning on each other,” National Enquirer quoted an unnamed source. “But then the wine started flowing and it didn’t take long before they were at each other’s throats.”
Aniston, who portrayed the gentle “Friends” character Rachel on the small screen, reportedly became tipsy and turned confrontational. “Jen was a total firecracker,” the tipster added. “She ripped Justin a new one, complaining about how he vanished the month after their split without so much as a conversation before popping up in New York with a different girl every night.”
The source even added that Aniston mocked Theroux’s usual fashion ensemble, which involves skinny jeans, army boots and a leather jacket. The actress reportedly had some unkind words for him in this department and described him as “like an old man trying to fit in.”
However, Gossip Cop said the story is just “a made-up tabloid report.” The fact-checking site reached out to Theroux’s camp and was informed that the article was a complete fabrication. Similarly, Aniston’s rep went on record to dismiss the story as nonsense.
What was true, however, is that one of the dogs, Dolly, did indeed die. “Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle... our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield. __ She was surrounded by her entire family,” Theroux even posted a tribute on Instagram.
Apparently, both Aniston and Theroux are dog lovers. “They loved their animals and felt strongly about choosing rescue dogs,” a source close to the ex-couple revealed. “No expense was spared; the dogs had great care. People used to joke that the dogs had a better life than they did!”
