Alicia Machado was rumored to play Jenni
Rumors about who was to play Rivera in the Telemundo series have produced many names. At one point it was said Alicia Machado will give in to the role. Rosie Rivera will be played by Stephanie Arcila
Previously, it was revealed who would play Jenni Rivera's sister, Rosie. In a recent interview on "Al Rojo Vivo" she presented the actress that would portray her on the small screen. It was announced that Stephanie Arcila would be playing Rosie and would be filming a scene that talks about her abuse by one of her sister's husbands. Rivera also revealed that seeing that moment reenacted was theraputic for her and helped her heal. "I see the young girl and the abuser shows up and I say 'oh my God, someone save her'", she said. "I ended up crying, but it was also like theraphy for me. For many years I didn't love myself but seeing myself as a young girl and that scene, I said, 'I'm going to forgive myself.'"
