Telemundo has started to promote their Jenni Rivera series, "Mariposa De Barrio," on the heels of the premiere of Univision's "Su Nombre Era Dolores, La Jenn Que Yo Conocí". The former series is the only authorized version of the recount of "La Diva de la Banda's" life and has all the support from the Rivera family.
Rosie Rivera, Jenni's sister, was on "Al Rojo Vivo" today presenting the actress that will portray her on the small screen. It was announced that Stephanie Arcila would be playing Rosie and would be filming a scene that talks about her abuse by one of her sister's husbands. Rivera also revealed that seeing that moment reenacted was theraputic for her and helped her heal.
"I see the young girl and the abuser shows up and I say 'oh my God, someone save her'", she said. "I ended up crying, but it was also like theraphy for me. For many years I didn't love myself but seeing myself as a young girl and that scene, I said, 'I'm going to forgive myself.'"
"Mariposa de Barrio" doesn't have a premiere date yet, but it is expected to air this year on Telemundo. Rosie ends the interview explaining why they chose that title for the series.
"A butterfly is not always a butterfly," she explained. "It's a caterpillar before, that crawls, that has difficult moments. It's not a pretty life." Watch the complete interview down below and tell us what you think!
