Earlier this week Apple held its annual WWDC keynote speech where the company revealed a plethora of updates. The company revealed iOS 8 for iPhone, iPad and iPod as well as the next OS X named Yosemite. While the announcements were exciting, fans were expecting the Cupertino-based company to reveal some hardware including the highly-rumored iWatch along with new MacBook models and possibly the larger screen iPhone 6.
Well now it seems Apple has narrowed down a launch date for the wearable tech. According to Re/Code, a source familiar with the company's plans says it is tentatively hoping to schedule a special iWatch event to show off the device this October. This latest report from Re/Code falls in line with previous rumors that suggested the device would make an appearance around October 2014.
There are few details regarding the Apple's iWatch features however, the Nikkei report suggested the device will incorporate a curved OLED touchscreen.
Other rumors suggest it will also include a multitude of health and fitness sensors, to measure metrics like calorie consumption, sleep activity, blood oxygen levels, and more. It is said to integrate deeply with the iOS 8's recently introduced health initiative and accompanying app and it may come in multiple sizes and at multiple price points.
If this news turns out to be correct then this special event in October will most likely feature the iWatch and rumored iPhone 6.
