Analyst Brian Blair of Rosenblatt Securities has said he believes Apple's rumored iWatch will feature a round face, similar to that of a traditional watch according to Business Insider. The iWatch is said to look like the Motorola Moto 360 smart watch only with a slimmer profile.
According to MacRumors Apple should begin production on the iWatch this summer, sometime in July to be exact, with the goal of 21 million units being produced in the second quarter of 2014. Then AppleInsider says Apple may partner with Quanta Computer to produce the smart device, instead of Foxconn who manufactures the iPhone 6.
According to Blair's sources Apple may be producing multiple models of the iWatch, including one that with a sapphire glass display cover. This information matches an earlier report from Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities that said the iWatch may come in various price points and variety of materials. By offering multiple models of the iWatch Apple will be able to both compete with the low and high end smart watches in the market.
Apple's iWatch is rumored to be arriving sometime near the end of 2014. The device is expected to feature a fashionable design and biometrics to show basic health monitoring. The iWatch will most likely sync with iOS devices like the iPad, iPhone and iPods and come with Apple's rumored new Heathbook app that is expected to debut with iOS 8.
Though the device is expected later this year, it is still possible that it will make an appearance at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference this summer along with details regarding iOS 8.
