Apple has unveiled its latest operating system, iOS 8, for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. There were a ton of new features revealed including Apple's all-new health initiative with an accompanying app, Photos and iMessage including the ability to add and remove contacts from message threads. To check out these new features and more follow these directions to install iOS 8 on your device!

1. Download the iOS 8 beta file for your specific iPhone or iPad model (To determine the proper download for your iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, or iPhone 5, click here. For your iPad Air, iPad mini, or iPad (4th generation), click here). Developers will find the files they need on Apple's website while other interested parties can check out IMZDL for their iOS 8 beta files.

2. Open iTunes (Make sure your iTunes is updated to the latest version), plug in your device and choose “Restore your iPhone” with the iOS 8 beta. On Macs, press and hold the Alt/Option key when clicking “Restore.” Windows users should hold the Shift key when clicking “Restore.”

3. Check your “Downloads” folder for the iOS 8 beta 1 installation file, which should end with “.ipsw,” file extension name for iPhone firmware files. The iOS 8 beta 1 installation will use a lot of battery power, and it may take some time to complete so be patient.
