An infant reportedly suffered a head injury and skull fracture after its mother threw a pot lid on its head in Easton, Pennsylvania on Sunday, Oct. 9.

The child's mother, identified as 27-year-old Tiffani Hare, and her boyfriend reportedly engaged in a heated argument at their house in Easton on Sunday, Oct. 9. As the argument escalated, Hare, in a fit of rage, picked up a pot lid that was lying nearby and tried to throw it at her boyfriend. However, seeing Hare throw something at him, the boyfriend moved out of the way. The pot lid, however, struck the infant in the head, Lehigh Valley Live reported.

The infant, who is younger than 12 months, suffered grievous injuries in the attack. The child suffered a cut to the head, which required four surgical stitches to close, as well as a skull fracture and a brain injury.

The officers have not revealed further details on the child’s current health condition.

Following the incident, the mother was arrested on assault and child endangerment charges. She was arraigned on Monday, Oct. 10, and is being held on a $5,000 bail, WFMZ-TV reported.

In a similar but unrelated incident, a woman has been accused of brutally throwing her 3-month-old infant against the floor and killing the child after a petty dispute with her husband over her jewelry in Dholpur district, Rajasthan, India on June 16, as previously reported.

The accused, identified as Chanchal, was reportedly angry with her husband, Krishnan Kumar, over some jewelry she wasn't allowed to purchase at the time of the murder. On June 16, when Kumar tried to talk to the suspect and solve the issue between them, Chanchal, who had her 3-month-old infant on her lap, reportedly proceeded to hurl the baby onto the floor.

The child, who suffered grievous injuries in the fall, was immediately rushed to a hospital. However, she subsequently died while undergoing treatment at the facility.

Following the incident, on June 17, based on a complaint filed by Kumar, an FIR (First Information Report) was filed. On Monday, June. 20, the woman was arrested and produced before a court.
