The prophecy came true. Lady Profeco finally cost her dad Humberto Benítez Treviño his job after she threw a fit when she didn't get the table she wanted at a chic bistro in a popular Mexican neighborhood and had the restaurant closed.

After getting four officials that handled her case fired, and thinking that "Daddy Profeco" was cleared because at the time of the incident he was recovering from a hip replacement, Andrea Benítez didn't think that Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto was going to take even more drastic measures and remove Humberto Benítez Treviño from the Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor (Office for Consumer Protection.)

The dismissal was made public by the Secretary of State, Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, who acknowledged that, with this decision, the government seeks to avoid infringement of the authority and effectiveness of the Profeco from practices that violate the rights of consumers.

"The president, considering that this case has damaged the image and reputation of the institution, has ordered the removal from office of the Federal Consumer Attorney," stated Osorio Chong.

The Secretary then added that with this decision, the president sends a clear message to all public servants: "In addition to meeting our responsibilities within the framework of the law, we are required to accomplish out duties with ethics and professionalism."

In a statement released by Benítez Treviño, he thanked president Peña Nieto for the opportunity that was working with his government in these past months. He emphasized that as the head of the Profeco, he always acted with honesty, loyalty and patriotism and recognized that all the social media attention to the case affected his personal image, the perception of the Mexican people towards the institution he worked for and even had repercussions in his family.

He concluded insisting he did not interfere in the "shameful" acts in which his daughter was involved.

If you were Humberto Benítez Treviño, how would you punish your daughter for her irresponsible behavior?
