Pino's close friend Anni Gonzalez has heard her share of theories and this is what she had to say:
"There have been many rumors. One of them is that she was infected from bacteria after undergoing surgery on her intestine and other people have said that it was something she ate. In reality, it has not been confirmed yet. I heard that Betty had been having [health] issues for a while and she had been admitted to the hospital before. It was not something that happened suddenly and there was an episode where she was hospitalized."

Other rumos point to Betty undergoing a butt implant surgery that led to the infection. This cosmetic surgery is extremely dangerous and it was the same one that led Mexican singer, Alejandra Guzman, to almost lose her life after she found she was being injected with cement.
A recent story out of Miami had a 28-year-old woman dying after receiving a $2,300 butt implants, according to NYDailyNews. The center which performed the operation closed down soon after and the Venezuelan surgeon is thought to have fled the country.
