In October, HBO announced the prequel of “Game of Thrones” entitled “House of the Dragon” at an event for HBO Max. The all-new series will put the spotlight on the Targaryen family, the longest-ruling house of Westeros.

The show will revisit the devastating civil war that tore apart the entire Westeros, around 300 years before the "Game of Thrones" timeline. The final season of “Game of Thrones,” left open numerous plotholes. With a brand new Westeros series, GoT fans are now expecting creators to address these inconsistencies.

The title of the show, “House of the Dragon,” hints at the fact, that dragons will play pivotal roles in the new show. The fans are eager to find out how many dragons were actually there in House Targaryen. Were there any conscious efforts from the Targaryens to save the dragons, when they were getting weaker and smaller inside the dungeons? Why the Targaryens are always assumed to lose their sanity? Which were the major ruling houses in conflict with each other?

More than anything, the fans are eager to develop a strong opinion on whom they should be rooting for. Perhaps, the history of Westeros might justify the finale of the show “Game of Thrones.” The show is expected to have ten episodes telling the story of the Targaryen regime.

According to Deadline, the all-new prequel of “Game of Thrones” is written by Ryan Condal, with George R.R. Martin taking the helm at the co-executive producer role. “House of the Dragon” is based in Martin’s recent book “Fire and Blood,” which shows the ancestors of Daenerys fighting the civil war.

Although the airing dates of the new show is yet to be announced, the show is expected to follow the launch of HBO Max, in spring 2020.
