Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may look all regal whenever they are out in public, but they have the ability to make people chuckle off their feet, too. In fact, during their recent three-day trip to Morocco, the two flexed their comedic chops while talking about Baby Sussex.
In a video that made the rounds online on Monday, the royal couple was shown sitting at a table with a few schoolteachers. While conversing with the women, Prince Harry quipped that Meghan’s baby wasn’t his and even claimed that he didn’t know that his wife was pregnant.
While on their royal tour in Morocco, the royal couple visited Education for All, a non-profit boarding house that helps teenage girls from far-flung rural communities of the Atlas Mountains gain proper education. During their visit, one woman was captured on video congratulating the couple for Markle’s pregnancy. “I wish to say congratulations for your pregnancy,” said the woman.
Prince Harry then said, “Wait, you’re pregnant?” to which the Duchess of Sussex cooperatively and comically replied, “Surprise!”
But the joke did not end there just yet. Seemingly clueless about Markle’s pregnancy, he mischievously asked his wife, “Is it mine?” drawing laughs from the women of Education for All.
The royal couple’s recent joke at the boarding house wasn’t the first they made in public. When they visited the Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports, they also joked about a nervous pony attending a grooming session. When he noticed that the pony was shaking, Prince Harry jokingly asked, “Has anyone got any carrots?” to which Markle also jestingly replied, “We all get a little camera shy, I understand.”
Prince Harry and Markle tied the knot in May 2018. Five months after the wedding, the Kensington Palace announced on Twitter that the two are expecting their first baby in spring of 2019.
Last week, the royal couple was in New York City for an American baby shower. The lavish event was attended by around 20 of Meghan’s closest friends, including Serena Williams, Amal Clooney, Gayle King and “Suits” co-star Abigail Spencer. It took place at the Grand Penthouse at The Mark Hotel in New York.
