"GTA V" PC release is iminent. Naturally queries and questions about what to expect are reaching fever pitch. One issue that has "Grand Theft Auto" fans intrigued is the price of the new game. If you've already forked out $60 for your console version, how much are you prepared to spend for its PC counterpart? Well, as Society and Religion suggests, gamers will probably have to pay considerably less for the PC version given the current price trend between the two platforms.
"GTA V" was one of the most heavily discounted and heavily sold games on Black Friday, retailing for as little as $39. But this was several months after the game was released. While users may not be able to expect such a bargain on initial release, it is likely that the game will cost considerably less than the original Play Station and Xbox version. As Society and Religion suggests "The PC version of BioShock Infinite costs 49.99€ in the retail store that is not too far away from my home when I took a look a few weeks ago. Looking at Steam, I could have got the game for 24.99€ around a week ago."
Whether or not the price will differ as greatly remains to be seen. But surely given that so many console users already own the game, it would behoove Rockstar to give gamers an incentive to make the switch to PC.
