GTA 5 Release Date News; Full Car List Details, Rumors [REPORT]

While the GTA 5 release date for Xbox 360 and PS3 won't be until September 2013, mounting rumors on available characters, maps, missions, and storyline, have not slowed at all.

Arguably the ultimate sandbox videogame, game developer Rockstar calls its latest map "Los Santos," a fictional city based on gritty Los Angeles. A breathtakingly detailed and immersive open world map, GTA 5 promises to take its sandbox gameplay to the next level.

No doubt, the player's ability to hijack a vehicle and explore and interact with Los Santos will be key to GTA 5's success. A picturesque city that captures everything that's right (and wrong) about the West Coast, GTA 5 offers no shortage of high end sports cars available for the players. 5. "9F"

What better way to cruise Los Santos than in a sports car convertible? Heavily influenced by the striking Audi R8, the "9F" is all new for GTA V. If its in-game characteristics are similar to the R8's rear world perofrmance, expect the 9F to feature solid handling, impressive power, and durability.

4.) Grotti Cheetah

A legend in GTA, the Cheetah returns once again for GTA V. Previously styled to mirror the Ferrari Testarossa of the 1980s, the new Cheetah ups its styling with influences from high end Italian supercars like the Pagani. In the past, the Cheetah took gamers hours to find. Once hijacked, the vehicle would inexplicably spawn at every interesection. Expect blistering speed and tricky handling.

The GTA favorite, the Sentinel may not be as fast or as rare as the Cheetah but it is often prefered for its well-rounded performance and usability. Fast and robust, the Sentinel has just the right combination necessary to outrun the cops of Los Santos.

Based on the Porsche 911, the Comet was first featured in the awesome GTA: Vice City. For GTA V, the new Comet now features a cool spoiler at the rear end, looking even faster than before.

If you scrolled ahead to the list below, the "Banshee" is glaringly omitted from the list... but could this unnamed sports car be it? A new vehicle for the fifth installment, the official GTA V game trailers heavily featured this gorgeous red roadster. With a stunning design inspired by the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster, this unknown vehicle will likely become the game's "hero" car.
