A Georgia woman who was seemingly seeking assistance after a car crash was found deceased at the bottom of a "deep well," according to local law enforcement.
On Saturday, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office shared a Facebook post in which it sought the public's help in locating Shirley Obert, a 67-year-old woman who was seen near a car crash earlier in the day.
The following day, the department shared an update informing the public that Obert's body had been found "at the bottom of a deep well that was surrounded by very thick brush, near where her car was found."
"Mrs. Obert appeared to have been trying to go for help when this incident occurred. This appears to be a tragic accident. Please keep her family and her co-workers in your thoughts and prayers," the department added in its post.
In two accompanying photos, first responders were seen using a fire truck to access the well.
