Latina Hollywood actress Francia Raísa has released a series of sauces that are inspired in her roots.

"These two salsas are my favorites! Fire Roasted Salsa and Fire Roasted Salsa Verde. The rich, smoky flavor from the fire roasted tomatoes, tomatillos, onions, jalapeños and spices makes an amazing flavor sensation, that is one to be enjoyed with your favorite entrees, snacks, and simply dipping them with chips or veggies," says Raísa's description of the sauce.

The sauces' origin story goes back to when Raísa was 18-years-old and wanted to learn how to cook after moving out. 'How I Met Your Father' Co-star, Hilary Duff, was also an additional inspiration. In an interview with After We Wrap, the Secret Life of the American Teenager actress said: "I hated eating at home. I was like 'all we eat is Mexican food'. That was very short-lived. When I was on my own I remember waking up one morning and being hungry. I was like 'ugh I don't know how to cook anything,' and the one thing I missed the most was salsa. Going to Mexican restaurants I never had it like my house and so I went home crying and I was like 'I want to learn how to make salsa but I need to learn how to cook.' So that was the first thing I learned."

She added: "I started bringing it [the salsa] as like a party gift. So I brought it to Hilary's house during the first season. She invited me to go swimming and she tried it and she goes "where'd you get this salsa?" and I was like 'oh I just made it' and she goes 'you made this?, 'you need to jar this.'"

"This salsa is a dream come true for me! When I left home to pursue my acting dreams, I reconnected with my heritage through food. My mom taught me my grandmother's salsa recipe and over time, I've made it my own! No matter where I am, one bite of this salsa takes me right back home to LA (Los Angeles). I'm excited to partner with the makers of La Victoria brand to share with you a piece of my family heritage," concluded the 35-year-old.
