“Fear The Walking Dead” Season 5 Episode 4 finally confirms the fan theory that everyone has been banking on. At the Season 5 premiere of “The Walking Dead” spin-off series earlier this June, “Fear” protagonist Althea found a mysterious helicopter group that was theorized to be linked to the helicopter that flew Rick off in the flagship series.
This was confirmed after Lennie James’ Morgan and Alycia Debnam-Carey’s Alicia spotted a helicopter bearing the same three interlocking circles symbol as the one in the main series hovering above them and flying away.
As the plotline gains traction, fans are going into a frenzy with hopes that the TWD big-shot Rick will make an appearance in the “Fear” series. However, it is also wise to note that since the “Fear” series occurs 8 months before the events of Rick’s disappearance, Althea would be the first person from the group of protagonists to have been caught by the helicopter group.
This does not stop the “Fear” cast from speculating as to how they would affect the much-awaited Rick Grimes movie trilogy. “If there's anyone who would be in the movie with Rick, it would be Al,” predicted Ruben Blades, who plays Daniel Salazar. “I hope they sneak Salazar in there to go rescue Al,” he continued.
“And I can just pop in there a little,” chimed in Alexa Nisenson, who plays young survivor Charlie. “Absolutely, We'll both go together because we make a good team,” Blades mused.
James, who has appeared in both “The Walking Dead” and “Fear The Walking Dead” as Morgan, is quite pumped for the chance to work with Andrew Lincoln again. “I had a great time working with Andy,” he said. “I'd work with him any day of the week. So any opportunity to be back in front of the camera, hanging out on set with him, I would absolutely jump at.”
Chief content officer Scott Gimple has previously stated the TWD and “Fear” will remain separate entities and not merge. “There's a little thing that turns into kind of a big thing that connects to something outside of both shows which people will be seeing,” he continued.
Currently, no confirmation as to a crossover between Rick and the “Fear” survivors has been made. But according to the show’s trajectory, fans and the cast alike remain positive of at least a cameo.
