Eugenio Derbez had to cancel his appearance at the Festival Internacional de Cine de Acapulco (Acapulco International Film Festival) because his wife, Alessandra Rosaldo wasn’t feeling too good and he decided to stay by her side. Mexico’s favorite couple recently announced they were expecting their first child together, and after Eugenio didn’t show up at the FICA, rumors sparked that Alessandra was having a tough pregnancy with a lot of complications that could lead to a miscarriage.
Although it’s sweet that everyone is so worried about Alessandra, Eugenio finally spoke and slammed the false reports. “The press made it bigger than it was,” the actor said. “She’s fine. The thing is that we’ve been traveling a lot and the doctor recommended that she stays still because she has the typical morning sickness symptoms: vomit, dizziness, etc. She hasn’t been feeling good, but it’s nothing too serious.”
Alessandra is 12 weeks along and that’s why she’s still dealing with morning sickness. However, Eugenio joked that he hasn’t gotten any yet. Alessandra, 42, and Eugenio, 52, got married July 7, 2012 at the Regina Coeli Church in Mexico City. They dated for six years. It was the first marriage for both of them.
