Eugenio Derbez has landed yet another accomplishment. Although his movie “Instructions Not Included” wasn’t nominated for the Golden Globes awards, taking place this Sunday, Jan. 12, he and his wife, Alessandra Rosaldo, were invited to attend the ceremony as guests by none other than the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Theo Kingma.
“On Wednesday I talked to the president of the Golden Globes and he told me that a few members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association saw my movie, they loved it, and want me and Ale to go as guests on Sunday," Derbez said. "We will be there obviously," he added, "And everything thanks to this film, that has given me great surprises.”
The actor and director also revealed that he’s beyond happy with the success that “Instructions Not Included” has brought him, and he’s beginning to get recognized by fans and other actors and Hollywood personalities that have talked to him about collaborating in the future.
He added that being invited to the Golden Globes is extremely special, because he has high hopes that Alfonso Cuarón, who’s nominated for Best Director thanks to his mega hit “Gravity,” takes the award home. “We will be there supporting the Mexican talent and giving Alfonso Cuarón all of our support. He has a lot of chances of taking an award home,” Derbez continued.
