Eugenio Derbez had an amazing 2013. His movie “Instructions Not Included” became a gigantic success in the Unites States, allowing him many opportunities, TV appearances, future collaborations with Hollywood actors, and becoming the biggest crossover star of the year (sorry, Eiza González). Although “Instructions” wasn’t nominated to the major award shows this season, you can be sure Eugenio is on the right path.
He and his wife, Alessandra Rosaldo, mostly known for being in the Mexican band “Sentidos Opuestos” and later transitioning to acting, were invited by Theo Kingma, the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, to attend the 2014 Golden Globes ceremony last Sunday, Jan. 12. It was very refreshing to see a close-up of Eugenio’s face several times throughout the broadcast, and we loved following Alessandra’s live Twitter feed.
Now that Mexico’s favorite couple have succeeded in their native country and are well known in the States, a big surprise came into their lives. And while they were getting ready to attend the Golden Globes, they sat down with Hola! Mexico and revealed the biggest news yet: they’re expecting their first child together. This will be Alessandra’s first child and Eugenio’s fourth, after Aislinn, from his previous relationship with Gabriela Michel, Vadhir Alejandro, from his past relationship with Silvana Prince, and José Eduardo, from his relationship with Victoria Ruffo.
Alessandra, 42, and Eugenio, 52, got married July 7, 2012 at the Regina Coeli Church in Mexico City. They dated for six years. It was the first marriage for both of them. Although Alessandra has a great relationship with Eugenio’s children, she always wanted a family of her own, and we’re more than excited for this lovely couple to start this amazing journey. Congrats to Eugenio and Ale!
