"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F” enjoyed an incredible box office weekend in Japan theaters. The new "Dragon Ball Z" movie opened in 653 theaters in Japan on April 18th and already earned 960,586,350 yen in its first weekend, making it the biggest opening weekend for 2015 so far.
Compared to the past DBZ movie "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods," the latest "Revival of F" film earned 27.4 percent more ticket sales. In fact, Toei predicts that "Revival of F" should earn more than 5 billion yen in the domestic box office.
But what about its international release? According to reports, "Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F" will be screened at a total of 74 countries/regions around the world. First, a "Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F" release date for Hong Kong and Taiwan has already been confirmed for May 1. Other regions including North America will be announced soon as well.
"Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F" tells the story of Frieza's revival following his defeat by Future Trunks. Frieza bid his time in Hell while his elite soldiers Sorbet and Tagoma managed to retrieve all the Dragon Balls to summon Shenron and request Frieza's return.
Now that Frieza is resurrected, the terrifying destroyer of worlds creates an army over one thousand strong to wreak havoc and kill two Saiyans: Trunks and Goku. In "Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F," we will witness a titanic battle between the ultimate evolution state Golden Frieza versus a blue-haired Super Saiyan God Goku.
