After nearly a year of waiting, “Dr. Stone” is back for a second season. Dubbed as “Stone Wars,” the Japanese anime will make its long-awaited debut on Jan. 14 on Crunchyroll. And based on the trailers for the series, there is a lot to expect.
The series will pick off from the first season which focused on the locals at the Ishigami village. And when the second season of “Dr. Stone” unfolds, there will be three new characters to look forward to. They are Nikki, Ukyo and Yo.
A glimpse of what the three brings can be seen in the official trailer. However, all are out to undermine Tsukasa Shishio’s rule. But it cannot be discounted that any (or all) of these opponents could end up joining forces with Tsukasa. Here is a better overview of the three new characters.
The only female in the new characters is Nikki. She is physically gifted and is a judo practitioner. Though hulky and overpowering, a soft side may still exist in her feminine body. However, unearthing that may take much to discover that and potentially make her an ally.
The second character is Ukyo. He is an archer that comes with an air of mystery. He is very hard to read and someone that owns overpowered hearing. His role in season 2 of “Dr. Stone” should be intriguing and it remains to be seen if he can be an ally or someone out to overpower Tsukasa.
The last of the new characters could end up an ally. He is compared to Nikki and the type of ally that Tsukasa could use in the kingdom. He is a glum nightstick wielder who is described as a straightforward guy.
Having a swarth of stone covering his face, his character will throw everyone off. But being a proficient fighter, he could have a better chance of aligning with Tsukasa compared to Ukyo.
It will be interesting if these new protagonists will join forces with Tsukasa against Senku Ishagami. War is imminent in season 2 and most of the battles ahead were already detailed during the first season of “Dr. Stone.” It should be an interesting second season as Tsukasa and Senku march to battle.
