“Sweet Home” season one is done but the ending leaves a lot more questions than viewers want to see. Though it has not been announced yet, the easy money is that a second season should be announced soon.
As of this writing, that has yet to be known. But if the viewership numbers are to be a basis, there is no question that Netflix may pick up a second season for the K-Drama horror series after a great start.
In fact, “Sweet Home” made it to the US top ten Movies & TV series on Netflix. Given that the series finale left more questions than answers, there are a lot of hanging twists on the main protagonists.
One of them involves Sang-Wook (Go Youn-Jung). He was last seen dying in a pool of his own blood as he was trying to help Yu Ri (Go Youn-Jung). However, he re-emerged as the driver of the military van which had Song Kang (Cha Hyun Soo) onboard and scar-less.
There is a possibility that Sang-Wook may have gone through his own metamorphosis, meaning his state is only temporary until he turns into a monster.
Another character that raises questions in “Sweet Home” is Eun Hyuk (Lee Do-Hyun). He was last seen bleeding as the Green Home collapsed. If he is also undergoing some kind of metamorphosis, he may be still alive.
Yi Kyung (Lee Si-young) is also another character that has some unresolved issues. She has yet to figure out what happened to her fiancé, Nam Sang-Won (Lee Shin Sung). Yi Kyung ended up joining the military but may have other intentions. She may be out to hunt down Cha Hyun Soo to get some answers on what happened to her fiancée.
Finally, there are the few remaining survivors of the Green Homes on “Sweet Home.” Though they were assured of shelter and safety, that could be a temporary setup. The military can only do so much and Eun Hyuk knows that they cannot fully guarantee everyone’s safety.
Given these questions and subplots, seeing the second season of “Sweet Home” is apparent. The producers needed eight months to film the first season. Hence, if a second season of the TV series based on Line Webtoon is happening, the safest bet is to expect it by the summer of 2022.
